The Alaska Statement of Domestication A Foreign (non-Alaskan) Religious Corporation Domesticating to a Domestic (Alaskan) Religious Corporation | Form 08-0600 is the required application form to be filed with the Alaska State Government’s Corporate Section whenever a foreign religious entity or corporation wishes to conduct business in the State of Alaska as a religious corporation. Technically, this is considered two forms: a Statement of Domestication and Articles of Incorporation. Generally speaking one may file a separate Articles of Incorporation however this should only be done with legal counsel. It is highly recommended to seek legal counsel should there be any question regarding this process or the requirements a religious corporation must satisfy both in Alaska and on the Federal level. There will be a significant number of government entities that will need filings and information for this domestication and formation process, so make sure you are fully aware of the process before submitting this documentation.
Once the items and articles of these forms have been supplied with information, it should be submitted to State of Alaska, Corporations Section, P.O. Box 110806, Juneau, AK 99811-0806 along with a payment for the state filing fee of $75.00. How To File
Step 1 – At the top of the first page of the Statement of Domestication Specifically for A Foreign (non-Alaskan) Religious Corporation Domesticating to a Domestic (Alaskan) Religious Corporation, place a check mark in the box labeled “$75.00 filing fee.”
Step 2 – In Item 1 of the Statement of Domestication, enter the name of the foreign religious corporation that will be domesticated to Alaska. Then report the state it is moving to Alaska from.
Step 3 – In Item 2, enter the name of the religious corporation this entity shall assume and operate under in the State of Alaska.
Step 4- In Item 3, you may opt to report the day of this entity’s domestication. If so keep in mind, it must be within 90 days of the filing date for your Articles of Incorporation.
Step 5 – In Item 5, check the first box to indicate that you will submit the Articles of Incorporation attached to this form. If not then check the second box. Note: Marking the second box means you must fill out a separate Articles of Incorporation.
Step 6 – In Item 6, an officer of the corporation being domesticated, an approved agent of the foreign non-corporate religious entity domesticating into an Alaskan religious corporation, or the court appointed fiduciary must sign and print his/her name. The title he/she holds and the name of the entity they represent and the date must also be furnished.
Step 7 – In Article 1 of the Articles of Incorporation Specifically for A Domestic (Alaskan) Religious Corporation with Statement of Domestication, enter the name the religious corporation shall assume in the State of Alaska. This should be the same name listed in Item 2 of the Domestication Statement.
Step 8 – In Article 2, report the purpose of the religious corporation’s formation and activities in the State of Alaska.
Step 9 – In Article 3, estimate the value of the religious corporation’s property as it stands at the time of filing these articles. Report this number here.
Step 10 – In Article 4, document the identity, physical address, and mailing address of the registered agent for the corporation being formed.
Step 11 – On the first line of the Contact Information Sheet, report the name of the entity the Domestication Statement and Articles of Incorporation concern themselves with. This should be the same name listed in Item 2 of the Domestication Statement and Article 1 of the Articles of Incorporation.
Step 12 – Under the heading “Questions/Problems,” report the identity of a contact who will be able resolve any issues regarding the filing of these documents. You will need to input the company name, attention name, mailing address, phone number, and email for this party.
Step 13 – Under the heading “Filed Documents,” check the box if documents may be returned to the same individual listed in the “Questions/Problems” section. If not, provide the company name, attention line, and mailing address where the Corporate Section may return any documents.
Step 14 – Take the completed Alaska Statement of Domestication A Foreign (non-Alaskan) Religious Corporation Domesticating to a Domestic (Alaskan) Religious Corporation | Form 08-0600, a copy of these forms, the Contact Information Sheet, any additional documentation, and a payment for $75.00 and submit by mail to: State of Alaska, Corporations Section, PO Box 110806, Juneau, AK 99811-0806 or fax to 907.465.2974.
